These crystallized calcite specimens are so reminiscent of the calcites from classic British localities.  What would be the cost of these specimens if they were from Cumbria.   This locality produced some of Australia's finest specimens of calcite.   However production was sporadic and fine specimens were only recovered during 1995 and 96.  The Red Dome Mine is now closed and future production of quality specimens is unlikely.

The Biggendon Mine, in southern Queensland is a magnetite mine.  During the 1980's, a few specimens were collected by local collectors.  However, this locality is now closed which makes access to fine pieces difficult as the few people that own them are not willing to sell specimens.
