Beryl is a gem species that forms
six-sided, prismatic crystals. It forms in a gem bearing, coarse grained, granite rock
known as pegmatite. Aquamarine is a pale blue variety of beryl. Fine specimens
of aquamarine have been found in Brazil, California and Northern Queensland but most have
been unearthed in Gilgit, Pakistan. This variety of beryl is commonly associated with
tourmaline.

An interesting

Pakistani aquamarine. Specimen is repaired as crystals broke when collected.
