Orchid Nursery Info

Created in 1988, Orchid World is a wholesale and retail orchid nursery that was formed by Paradisia to supply our retail, "Collectors Corner" with a constant supply of orchids. In 1989 we purchased a 10 acre property 65 klm from Melbourne and have now 7,000 sq. meters of heated and cold houses on the site specifically for growing orchids. Over 500,000 plants in all stages of growth are housed in these facilities.

In addition to the main nursery we have about 1,000 meters of retail area set inside Collectors Corner for the display and sales of our specimens.

Our stock holding include most genera of orchids in order to maintain a constant and regular supply to our retail nursery. Many of our products are being developed for export sales with cymbidium and native dendrobium production already in full swing. Orchids are also grown by us on contract.

We grow most genera in order to keep a good range available at our retail at Collectors Corner and maintain a huge display collection of species and hybrids for display purposes. Our interest is to develop ranges of plants that are easy to care for and promote to the general public and novice collector rather than for show bench orchids.

In our facilities we are constantly testing orchids for suitability as pot plants for cooler climates.
