This remarkable genus found only recently on a high altitude Plato in Venezuela has proven to be the missing link between normal leaves and the highly evolved leaves of the Sarracenias.

Heliamphoras are considered to be difficult to keep by most collectors but once the right position if found they will thrive.  Their natural environment is cool, sunny and wet.  All attempts to grown them in heated houses has either failed of produced weak plants, our best results come in cold houses that are protected from wether extremes, the cold does not appear to worry them but heat does.  Fertilizing also appear to be essential for a healthy plant.
