Caudiciforms

These pages are brought to you by Collectors Corner

Succulent plants are divided into 3 basic types: leaf succulents, stem succulents and root succulents, some plants may belong to all three groups. The Caudiciforms belong to the stem succulent group where the stem and sometimes also the root system becomes swollen, food and water are stored in the tissue in great quantities.   The most startling and well known plant from this group is the Bottle Trees of Australia and Africa, the trunks of these massive trees can often be up to 10ft thick.

Most collectable caudiciform plants are found in Africa with a sprinkling of others found across the world.

Over the coming months a number of these will be featured in  these pages.
