No 33.  camphorifolia

A hardy fast growing species suited for ladders or baskets. Flowers 6mm across comes in bunches of 20 to 30 hanging from along the stems. This species has a compact growth habit with short internodes and small ornate leaves.

Requires protection from severe frosts and should be undercover in winter in all colder  climates.

Lightly scented.

No 35. Hoya australis spp Australis

A fast growing cultivar suited for baskets or ladders. Flowers 1cm+ comes in bunches of 20 to 40 hanging from along the stems. 
Hardy but requires some protection in very cold climates.

A magnificent robust species producing large balls of striking colours 1.5cm flowers.  Growth is rapid with long stems between each leaf.  Great for ladders or baskets and can be cut back regularly to contain plant.  Will need winter protection.

Slow growing species suited for baskets.  Flowers are in small clusters of 2 to 4 and can be 2cm across.  Leaves are large and succulent and form close together.

A attractive thick leafed species well suited for baskets.  Very dense flower spikes produce 6mm across, comes in bunches of 15 to 25 hanging from along the stems.
Growth is very slow.
Hardy but requires protection in very cold climates.

 A fast growing hoya with compact leaves makes a very attractive basket plant.  Small dainty clusters of pink 1cm flowers appear over the warmer months.  Gracilis is a popular plant for the collector or the hobbyist.  Bets for baskets.

No 42. Hoya heuschkeliana

Another miniature but fast growing species.  This is considered a novelty item as flowers are very small, 3 to 4 mm across and in clusters of 5 to 10 flowers.  The flowers are highly fragrant and worthy of any collection. Requires winter protection in very cold climates.

No 43. Hoya ischnopus

Fast growing species well suited for baskets or ladders.  1cm yellow flowers are produced in medium size clusters of 20 to 25.  This species will tolerate cold climates but must be kept under cover and dryer in winter.

This species from PNG may not be kenejiana but an as yet unnamed species.

A compact species suited for baskets. Flowers 12 to 15mm across comes in bunches of 10 to 15 hanging from the stem. Requires rain and frost protection in cold climates and maybe shy to flower if kept too cold.

The name for this species is in question as this plant does not match the originally described species.

A compact species producing narrow recurved leaves along wiry stems, best suited for baskets. Novel flowers 3mm across comes in bunches of 10 to 20 hanging from along the stems in summer.
Requires rain and frost protection in very cold climates and maybe shy to flower if kept too cold.

No 48. Hoya magnifica

'New Guinea White'

Probably the best hoya available.  Huge 6 to 7cm long lasting flowers appear in huge clusters of up to 15 buds in summer.  Flowers are waxy and appear to be plastic.   Growth is rapid and leaves up to 15cm long.  Best trained on ladders as this is a robust grower.  Will only flower well if in a heated or tropical environment but can grow in cooler climates if protected.

No 49. Hoya mindorensis

This fast growing sub tropical species is a must for any collector.  Large balls up to 10cm across bear large numbers of very ornate 1cm blooms that deserve a closer inspection.  Must be protected in cold climates and will only flower if kept in sufficient light.

This fast growing vine like species produces large 2cm blooms in open clusters of 10 to 25 blooms throughout the warmer months.  Bets for ladders of baskets.  May require winter protection in very cold climates.
